Panama Hat - Savanna - Tobacco
SKU: eph 14256
These are original panama hats, made by hand in Ecuador from natural palm fibre. Skilled artisans handweave and hand block each one using traditional local techniques. They're lightweight and breathable, so they're ideal for a hot Australian summer. The Savanna has a wide brim that varies slightly between 8cm and 9cm.
Sizing: We have 5 sizes: 56, 58, 60, 62 and 64. If you're between sizes, we always suggest the larger one. To make it smaller, fasten a small safety pin inside the centre-back band, pulling it across itself. You can wear it comfortably like that, or swap the pin for a stitch. There are other ways to reduce a hat's size, but you can't stretch one to fit a larger head.
Care Instructions: Don't fold or roll these hats when packing for travel. Keep your hat dry. If it does get wet, gently reshape it by hand and leave it on a shelf to dry. You can also reshape it by lightly and carefully steaming and pressing it into shape.
To remove marks, use a damp cloth or nappy wipes. Test on a hidden spot first to make sure it doesn't discolour. Less is more.
Your hat will age naturally, developing its own character and moulding to your head over time. Because each one is handmade by skilled artisans, every hat has its own small variations.
